Act Now To Save On Taxes.

Many tax payers were dismayed when the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 passed. It limited the deduction for State and Local Tax (SALT) to a combined total of $10,000. Those who itemize their deductions and whose SALT exceeds $10,000 would lose a significant tax deduction.

A Financial Adviser’s Flowchart Gives Confused Clients Clarity to Make a Decision.

A medical practice was reviewing its employee-benefits package at the end of November and discovered that its health-insurance premiums were set to increase.

As a result, the physician partners wanted to balance that expense by cutting the cost of other benefits.

The practice’s certified public accountant suggested reducing the cost of its 401(k) plan. For help, the doctors approached financial adviser Bill Ennis of Day and Ennis, which manages $220 million for 180 families in Macon, Ga.
